England's second largest and flattest county it possesses enormous history and heritage. It has much to offer, from the thrills and spills of the seaside resort of Skegness to the historic and famous city of Lincoln.

The county is famed for family days out. Visiting animal farm parks, seal sanctuaries and some of the best leisure and theme parks in the country.

For the youngest members of the family there are child-friendly farm parks, nature reserves and discovery centres for great ideas to see and do in Lincolnshire. For a rainy day there are castles, manor houses and art galleries and a range of indoor attractions, such as the National Parrot Sanctuary, are ideal for a rainy day.

Those who like to pursue cultural attractions can of course visit the castles and stately homes, and no visit to Lincoln would be complete without stopping off at the magnificent cathedral which can be seen from miles outside this historic city.

You may care to follow in the footsteps of the stars and delve into Lincolnshire's connections with the big screen. Burghley House and Stamford were the locations for the Keira Knightley remake of Pride and Prejudice, and for the big budget film version of best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code starring Tom Hanks, Lincoln Cathedral was used as the double for Westminster Abbey. And Possession, starring Gwyneth Paltrow featured Lincoln University, Lincoln Station and Eastgate.

The county is acknowledged as the antique hunters' centre of the UK and you can find specialist dealers, intimate street emporiums and local antique fairs across the county.

For those who enjoy the great outdoors, there is a variety of fun outdoor attractions to see and do in high speed broadband service such as the famous Pleasure Island at Cleethorpes, the Maze at Wing and the Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve at Skegness. There are also excellent golf courses with well-stocked shops and friendly clubhouses. For the fishing enthusiast there are angling centres which provide a diverse range of fishing activities.

And of course, as the flattest county in England, it is a paradise for walkers and cyclists, especially attractive being the Lincolnshire Wolds.
